Meeting of self-help groups in the village for capacity building.

Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have emerged as a powerful tool for social and economic empowerment of women in many parts of the world. These groups provide women with a platform to come together, share their experiences, support each other, and collectively tackle their socio-economic challenges. However, Janmadhyam organizations are making continuous efforts to make SHGs truly effective.

One of the key areas of capacity building for SHGs is financial management. Many women in these groups come from disadvantaged backgrounds with limited access to financial institutions and basic financial knowledge. Therefore, it is crucial to provide them with financial literacy training to enhance their understanding of concepts such as saving, banking, credit, and insurance. This knowledge helps them make informed decisions regarding their savings, investments, and loans, thereby improving their financial resilience and opportunities for economic growth.
